Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Summer Festival

After two successful festivals at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, San Leandro (2500 Bermuda Ave ),The Festival Committee and the parishioners are putting up a third festival this year on August 3, 2014, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

The proceeds of the last two festivals helped in putting a new roof over the church, this year the members are all excited to raise funds to defray the costs of the much needed infrastructure upgrades that will ensure the necessary compliance with insurance codes and guidelines.

This festival helps not only in raising funds for much needed projects, but it also helps in bringing together the diverse neighborhood community together.

The church community acknowledges the help of our sponsors CA Systems, 5 linx, Black Nazarene Devotees, Devotees of Our Lady of Penafrancia, El Shaddai, The Elegant Creations, Bay to Bay Jumpers, Eusebio Dental, Mon Cargo Services,Inc., LIVE CHRIST SHARE CHRIST, Our Mother of Perpetual Help Devotees, La Pieta Devotees, Community Sports Basketball and others who are the main supporters of this festival.

The hosts for this year’s festival will be Fe De Los Reyes and Christina Medalla. One of the special guests will be Ellona Santiago of X Factor fame. Mayor Cassidy and other dignitaries have been invited.

Those who attended the last two festivals can vouch that they had a wonderful time. One of the sponsors, Agnes Doniego Singh of Mon Cargo Services, Inc., said she enjoyed mingling with her friends and other community members. A teenager Samantha Garcia said “ Festivals are fun filled days for the family”.

This year for the adults, there will be yard sale, vendor booths, bingo, raffle lottery (the first prize $2000 cash, second $1000 cash and the third prize is $500 cash). For the kids, there will be fun games, jumper and much more. For everyone – live entertainment (line dancing, belly dancing, Zumba etc.) and different kinds of food (barbecue skewers, adobo, lumpia, pancit,, chicken, bibingka, turon, halo-halo, cupcakes and other home baked goods).
